The product has high accuracy of the prediction results with the majority absolute differences less than 3 dBA, as well as the predicted noise doses were almost in the range of measurement.
Project Overview

In this invention, it has established a new automation tool, namely Noise Mapping Tool (S-NMS), to predict an instantaneous noise mapping for dynamic noise activities. The tool is applied the simple noise prediction charts in an automation framework, where it considers the random movement and random sound power level machinery during the working period. The implementation of prediction charts based on stochastic modeling at workplace is simple and reliable method to predict the noise level with remarkable accuracy and cost-effective. It is capable to predict the noise contour and plot on the mapping area. The product has high accuracy of the prediction results with the majority absolute differences less than 3 dBA, as well as the predicted noise doses were almost in the range of measurement. It has prompted the noise prediction method by predicting the sound pressure levels and standard deviations in the entire mapping area within a short period of time. The invention is important to improve the current noise mapping technology, because it could be used as managerial tool to plot an instantaneous noise mapping for dynamic activities during the planning process. Lastly, the noise mapping information could be used in noise impact assessment and providing the strategy for noise abatement planning.
